About the Cover The cover is showing a surface plot and a cut plot of the circumferential velocity component in Taylor-Couette flow between two rotating cylinders. This flow is studied in Chapter 5 Rayleigh-Benard Convection and Taylor-Couette flow. About the Author Dr. John Matsson is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Chair of the Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics Department at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden in 1988 and 1994, respectively and completed postdoctoral work at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. His teaching areas include Finite Element Methods, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing Processes and Principles of Design. He is the Chair of the American Sociely of Mechanical Engineers ASME Mid-Continent Section, senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and also a member of the American Sociefy of Engineering Education (ASEE), and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
