On the day Jane Bard leaves her husband, finding a severely beaten alien tied up in the garage is not part of her carefully laid plans. Her own escape is dangerous enough without trying to save a stranger, but Jane can’t turn her back on anyone in need. Not even a prostitute from some unheard of planet.
Raj is a Bod, a man who came to Earth to work in brothels known as Body Houses. He’s been kidnapped by Bill Dancer and Earth First to serve as victim in an execution infocast.
Jane rescues him and brings him to the relative safety of her hideout. She does her best to nurse his wounds. In the process she grows fond of him. Not fond enough to give him sex, however, and that’s the only thing he really needs.
Jane can’t stand sex. Raj can’t live without it. Locked in hiding together, the two have to negotiate the terms of their relationship. The process leads them both into unchartered sexual terrain. When Dancer manages to get his hands on Jane, Raj resorts to terrible violence threatening the deep but fragile bond the lovers share.
