TheFourthInternationalConferenceonComputingandNetworkCommunications
(CoCoNet’20)providedaforumforsharingoriginalresearchoutcomesandpractical
development experiences among experts in the emerging areas of computing and
communications.ThisconferencewasorganizedbyVelloreInstituteofTechnology
(VIT), Chennai, India. Due to the recent pandemic situation, the conference was
conductedasavirtualeventduringOctober14–17,2020.
Thematerialwaspresentedinaprogramthatconsistedofkeynotetalks,technical
sessions,lightningtalks,tutorials,symposiums,parallelsessions,workshopsandhot
off the press. CoCoNet’20 convened a well-tailored and handpicked collection of
eminent speakers from renowned universities and industries in and outside India.
The array of speakers included Dr. Ian T. Foster, Dr. Arumugam Nallanathan, Dr.
Mohammed Atiquzzaman, Dr. Vipin Chaudhary, Dr. Dilip Krishnaswamy and Dr.
LjiljanaTrajkovic.Thisconferencereceived181submissionsthisyear,outofwhich
98papers(58regularpapers,40shortpapers)hadbeenaccepted.Thepaperswere
subjectedtoarigorousreviewprocessthatexaminedthesignificance,noveltyand
technicalqualityofthesubmission.Thepaperswerepresentedindifferentsessions,
namelythebestpapersessions,regularpapersessionsandshortpapersessions.
Theproceedingsoftheconferenceisorganizedintotwovolumes.Thisvolume
iscomprisedof47papers,andthetopicalsectionsincludemachinelearning,visual
computing and signal processing, and natural language processing. This volume
alsoincludesselectedpapersfromtwoco-affiliatedsymposiums:theInternational
SymposiumonComputerVisionandtheInternet(VisionNet’20)andtheSymposium
onEmergingTopicsinComputingandCommunications(SETCAC’20).
Thesuccessoftheconferencedependsultimatelyonthenumerouspeoplewho
have worked with us to plan and organize both the technical program and local
arrangements.Inparticular,thewiseadviceandbrilliantideasoftheprogramchairs,
workshopandsymposiumchairs,andindustrytrackchairsintheorganizationofthe
technicalprogramaregratefullyappreciated.Wewouldliketoextendourheartfelt
