How to Get your Lesson Files Thank you for purchasing this digital version of: ® ® ® Adobe Premiere Pro CC Classroom in a Book (2014 release) To work through the projects in this book, you will need to download the lesson files from peachpit.com. The entire set of files is very large (almost 8 GB), and you need to keep the entire collection on your computer while you work through the book. We’ve divided the file download into smaller chunks and compressed them (using ZIP format) to make downloading easier. You’ll reassemble the folders into the proper arrangement after downloading them.Although each lesson stands alone, some lessons use files from other lessons, so you’ll need to keep the entire collection of lesson files on your hard drive as you work through the book. You will need about 8 GB of storage space for the downloaded files, then an extra 8 GB to store the uncompressed files. Once the files have been uncompressed, you can delete the compressed files and regain the storage space. To access the Classroom in a Book files, do the following: 1. On a Mac or PC, go to www.peachpit.com/redeem and enter this code: 92178CD6E345 2. If you do not have a Peachpit.com account, you will be prompted to create one. 3. The downloadable files will be listed under Lesson & "******ebook converter DEMO - www.ebook- converter.com*******" Update Files tab on your Account page (see image below). 4. Click each file link to download it to your computer. You should end up with eight files (the filename suffix “ZIP” may not be visible on your system, depending on your preference settings): Project_Files.zip Assets.zip Video_Audio_1.zip Video_Audio_2.zip Video_Audio_3.zip "******ebook converter DEMO - www.ebook- converter.com*******" Video_Audio_4.zip Video_Audio_5.zip Video_Audio_6.zip 5. Double-click each file to de-compress it (modern Mac and Windows systems will open ZIP files without any extra software). Each ZIP file opens to create a folder of the same name. Once you have finished this step, you can delete the ZIP files or move them to another storage location to free up space on your main drive. Important: The files need to be arranged into a specific folder hierarchy in order for Premiere Pro to connect the footage files we have provided (the actual video and audio clips, graphics, etc.) with the project files that you will edit in each lesson. Follow these steps carefully: 6. Create a new folder named Lessons in a convenient spot on your hard drive. 7. Drag the folder Assets (created when you de- compressed Assets.zip) into the new Lessons folder. Open the Assets folder to reveal its contents. 8. Locate the folder Video and Audio Files in the Assets folder and open it. 9. Return to the files you downloaded and unzipped and find the folder named Video_Audio_1. Open it and drag its contents into the Assets folder. 10. Repeat step 9 for each of the other five folders whose name begins with “Video_Audio”. When you’re done, your Assets folder should look like this: "******ebook converter DEMO - www.ebook- converter.com*******" 11. Return once more to your downloaded files and find the folder Project_Files. Open this folder and drag its contents into the Lessons folder so the folders Lesson 01, Lesson 02, etc. reside at the same level as Assets. Here’s how your Lessons folder should look: "******ebook converter DEMO - www.ebook- converter.com*******" For more information on working with these files, go to the Getting Started section at the front of the book. Ebook customers can disregard the section Copying the lesson files. The Premiere Pro projects included in the folders Lesson 01, Lesson 02, etc., have links to specific media files in the Assets folder. Because you are copying the files to a new location, those links may need to be updated when you open projects for the first time. If you open a project and the Link Media dialog may open, please see the section Relinking the lesson files in Getting Started for instructions.
