CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE PRESENTS A double bill of student directed projects. These projects are designed to give students the opportunity to produce a play of their choice in a supportive en vironment. Set Design: Krikor Ajemian Costume Design: Tracey lluston Light Design: Fran~oise Methot ACROBATS by Israel Horovitz Directed by K. Ramona Orr Ramona's interest in Acrobats began with the metaphor through which the ac tion is presented. A COUJ?le, husband and wife are professional performers. Their personal relationship and related conflicts begin to affect their perfor mances. They come to reahze how interdependent they are and how deep their resentment of this dependence is. Yet they also come to realize how deeply they care for each other. Acrobats explores J?OWer conflicts and struggles to retain one's individuality in human relationships. This production has been a great challenge to the director and cast, as they have limited experience in acrobatics, THE EXCEPTION AND THE RULE by Bertolt Brecht Translated by Eric Bentley Directed by James McLean The Exception and the Rule was first produced in 1936. It invites the audience to accompany the characters in a race across the desert, to an oil field. The play is bitterly relevant to present world events. James McLean was motivated to produce The Exc~tion and the Rule for he feels it "tells the truth about human interaction" isplaying the bitter poignance of social failings. "It speaks the unspoken rules of class distinction", in such a way, he assures that the audience can perceive the issues in a humorous light without denying their existence ..
