Description:
Like many women, I’m not sure if I chose triathlon, or if triathlon chose me. I began my competitive athletic career over a decade ago.

First, I became interested in running trail races, and then I quickly became absorbed in the world of cycling races. My competitions took me all around the globe. Since I was excelling in both running and cycling, triathlon seemed the next logical step. I have worked with a variety of elite coaches and top-notch sports psychologists to learn the most beneficial physical and mental training strategies,

which I’m eager to share with others who wish to break into the triathlete community.

My own education has focused on psychology and biochemistry, which has culminated in my current position in a neuropsychology lab. My research focus is the cognitive ability of athletes, especially in the application of mental and physical pain management. I find my research beneficial to my own understanding of training and physical abilities, and I enjoy sharing this information with other athletes through my writing.

When I’m not in the pool or on the trail, I love having exciting adventures with my children and playing board games.
