Introduction MostspeciesofthesubfamilyEubrianacinaearehithertoknownasbelongingto thegenusEubriana:x:.Throughourrecentstudyonthesubfamily,wehaverecognized thatthegenusisacompositegroup.Aboveall,Eubrianaxlnslgnls(FAIRMAIRE)andits alliedspeciesareapparentlydifferent fromEubriana;x;inoldsenseinhavingthelong andslightlycurvedclawsandthenarrowlyroundedapicesofparameresofthemale genitalia.Their immaturestagesalsoshowsomepeculiaritiesandaresimilar tothose ofthegeneraMubrianaxandOdontanaxl.Thus,wearegoingtoestablishanewgenus forthisgroupofeubrianacinesinthepresentpaper. Bodyformoblong,moderatelydepressed;surfacedense- lypubescentbutmoresparselysoonpronotumwhichisprovidedwithlatero-apical translucent areas. Headcompletelyconcealedunderpronotum; fronsapicallydilated;labrumtrans- verse,mediallyemarginate; antenna11-segmented,segments3-10serrate in female, pectinateinmalewithallramioriginatingbasally.Maxillarypalpus4-segmented,seg- ment1veryshortandweaklysclerotized;labialpalpus3-segmente segment1short andweaklysclerotized.Pronotumtransverse,widest usuallynear basal t/3,slightly constricted towardsbase,moredistinctlyconstrictedtowards apex; marginsarcuate andsmooth;posterioranglesrectangular;discmediallyconvex.Scutellumsubtriangu- 1ar.ElytraobovateorsubparalIe1;discwithstripesconsistingofmoreimpressedpunc- tures; lateral margins smooth. Prosternum produced anteriorly; presternal process short,not reachingmesosternum,apicallytapering,withacuteapex;mesosternumflat, without groove for reception ofpresternal process; metasternumwith deeply im- pressedmedianlongitudinalsuture.Mesocoxa1cavitiesseparated. Legsmoderatelylong,apicalspinesoftibia2-1-1; tarsi5-segmented,segment1 subequa1tosegment2,progressivelyshortened fromsegment2to4,segment5sub- equaltosegment2;clawssimple,slightlycurved;pulvillimembranousandtranslucent. Malegenitalia trilobed; fibulareduced into veryslender sclerite;median lobe slender,base-lateralapophysesshort;parameres1ong, reachingapexofmedian lobe, apicesnarrowlyrounded, longerthanbasalpiece;ventralapophyseswelldeveloped; basalpiecegraduallynarrowedtowardsbase. Secondarysexualdimorphism:- Femalehasalargerbodyandserrateantennae. Mature larva(Fig. 1; baseduponanexuviaofJ dentatus). Body formob- long.Perioce11arsulciconjoinedwithmid-dorsal linenearapex, lackingmid-dorsal pronota1plate.Posteriorplatespresent inall thoracicsegments(includingpleurites) and main plates of abdominal segments 1-3. Costal lines present on meso- and metathoracesandallabdominalsegments,abbreviatednear lateral marginsofmeso- andmetathoracesandpleuritesofabdominalsegments7-8.Slendercrevicespresent betweenposteriormarginofabdominaltergite6andanteriormarginoftergite7(ab- sentinyoungerlarvae). Diagnosis. Adult. ThisnewgenusisveryclosetoEubriana:x;,butcanbedis- tinguished fromthelatterbyacombinationofthefollowingcharacters: longand slightlycurvedclaws(Fig 2),membranousandtranslucentpulvilli,andthenarrowly roundedapjcesofparameres. InEubrianax:, theclawsareshort andstronglycurved (Fig 3), thepulvilli arepigmentedandwelldeve1ope and thehook-likeapicesof parameresarecoveredwithsmallroundedsclerites.
