The service sec- tor now dominates the economies of the developed world. Service innovation is fastbecomingthekeydriverofsocio-economic,academicandcommercialresearch attention.KnowledgeManagementplaysa crucialrole inthe developmentofsus- tainablecompetitiveadvantagethroughinnovationinservices.Thereistremendous opportunityto realise business value from service innovationby using the knowl- edge aboutservicesto developand deliver new informationservices and business services. Although there are several perspectives on KM, they all share the same core components,namely:People,ProcessesandTechnology.Organisationsofallsizes acrossnearlyeveryindustryareseekingnewwaystoaddresstheirknowledgeman- agement requirements. Cloud computing offers many solutions to the problems facing KM implementation.Cloud computingis an emergingtechnologythat can provideusers with all kinds of scalable services, such as channels, tools, applica- tions,socialsupportforusers’personalknowledgeamplification,personalknowl- edgeuse/reuse,andpersonalknowledgesharing. The seventh International Conference on Knowledge Management in Organi- zations (KMO) offers researchersand developersfrom industry and the academic world to reporton the latest scientific andtechnicaladvanceson knowledgeman- agementin organisations.Itprovidesaninternationalforumforauthorsto present and discuss research focused on the role of knowledge management for innova- tiveservicesinindustries,toshedlightonrecentadvancesincloudcomputingfor KM as well as to identify future directions for researching the role of knowledge management in service innovation and how cloud computing can be used to ad- dress many of the issues currently facing KM in academia and industrial sectors.
