2013 Annual Report of Poultry Waste Produced and Applied in Conservation Districts by Certified Applicators Prepared by the Oklahoma Conservation Commission February 12, 2014 This report is generated as a result of Senate Bill 1170. SB 1170 was signed into law on May 20, 1998. Title 2 O.S. §10-9.18 (D) and (E), also known as Section 18 of SB 1170, specify that: D. The State Department of Agriculture shall provide such reports to the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. The Commission shall publish an annual report containing the following information: 1. The total amount of poultry waste produced in each conservation district; and 2. The total amount of poultry waste land applied by a certified applicator when land applied in each conservation district. E. The Commission shall submit copies of the report to the Governor, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by March 1 of each year. Copies of such reports shall be made available to all federal, state and local cooperating agencies and to the general public. The report represents a summary of data collected from certified poultry waste applicators as submitted to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry and subsequently furnished to the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. Certified poultry waste applicators were required to submit their reports by December 31, 2013. The reports cover litter application beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2013. Data collection and the subsequent reports will continue to be refined based on feedback from those parties listed in Section 10-9.18 (E). Any questions regarding the methodology used to collect the data summarized here should be directed to the Agricultural Environmental Management Services Division of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry. Following is a table that lists the amount of poultry litter production and application by conservation districts in tons as reported by applicators. Litter production as reported by applicators does not include data on litter produced, but not land applied in the State of Oklahoma, nor does it include data from incomplete, incorrect, or unreadable applicator reports.
