The site also provides premium and video content through theGold Zone. 2 2008 San Jose State University Women’s Soccer Fact Book Coaching Staff Head Coach Jeff Leightman Leightman has also been involved with the Olympic Development Program since 2002 as a United States Youth Soccer Region I staff coach at the U-13 and U-14 levels, and was the JEFF LEIGHTMAN Director of Coaching for the BC United Fusion, a premier girl’s Head Coach youth soccer program. He was previously the girl’s soccer head coach of the New York State West ODPU-16 and U-17 teams in 1st Season 1999-2000. As an assistant coach at Villanova during the 1997 season, Leightman helped guide the Wildcats to an 8-8-2 record, the Big East Tournament semifinals and an ECAC Tournament appear- ance. He led the Bearcats to the 2004 America East Conference regular-season and tournament championships and an NCAAChampionship berth with a 14-6-1 record after the team was picked to finish eighth, earning America East Coach of the Year honors. In all, Leightman has worked at the collegiate level for the past 15 years, having coached a nationally-ranked NCAADivision III program, a regionally-ranked Division I Big East Conference pro- gram at Villanova University and a Division I national champion at the University of North Carolina prior to coaching a Division II power- house and Division I America East champion and NCAAChampionship partic- ipant at Binghamton. At Binghamton, Leightman seamlessly transi- tioned the program from a mediocre Division III team into a regionally-ranked Division I force. The 2004 America East title and NCAA Championship berth came in just the Bearcats’ fourth season at the Division I level.
