Arlington Conservation Commission Water Bodies Working Group Date: January 16, 2020 Time: 6:30pm Location: Department of Planning and Community Development, Town Hall Annex 730 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA Minutes Attendance: Chuck Tirone, Susan Chapnick, David White, and Emily Sullivan. 01/02/2020 Meeting Minutes The Commission discussed edits to the draft 01/02/2020 minutes. C. Tirone motioned to approve the minutes as edited, D. White seconded, all were in favor, motion approved. Water Bodies Fiscal Year 2020 Budget The Working Group reviewed the FY2020 budget spent year-to-date, and what additional costs are anticipated in the remainder of FY2020. The Working Group also drafted the budget for FY2021 based on anticipated treatment needs. This budget will be presented to the Finance Committee in February, prior to Town Meeting. Water Bodies Annual Report The Working Group discussed revisions to the annual report. D. White suggested getting feedback from the entire Conservation Commission on the annual report. RFQ for Arlington Reservoir Management Plan The Working Group discussed revisions to the RFQ. D. White suggested getting feedback from the entire Conservation Commission on the RFQ before it is put out to bid. Water Bodies Treatment Tracking E. Sullivan stated that she had been tracking all FY2020 treatments administered by Solitude Lake Management for the following water bodies: Spy Pond, Arlington Reservoir, Hill's Pond, Lower Mystic Lake, and the Medford Boat Club. The Working Group agreed to go through historical reports to fill in treatments from previous years so the Working Group has a better understanding of treatment success. Meeting adjourned at 7:15pm. 1
