Shri Ram Krishna Seva Mandal rightly endeavors to embody the spirit of “Devotion
towards Humanity”. Inspired by the holy messiahs of ancient India, namely Shri
Ram Krishna Paramhansa and Shri Swami Vivekananda, SRKSM was established
in the year 1954. Our dear founder Shri G.S.Patel fondly known as, ‘Vakil Saheb’
ignited the lamp of service to society under the guidance of Shri Bhaikaka, the
Founder of Charutar Vidya Mandal. SRKSM is involved with multi-disciplinary,
socially beneficial activities since then. Starting with a hospital way back in 1953 to
provide free medical treatment to local and neighboring communities, when post-
independence medical facilities were not so easily available. Apart from the hospital
that helps the under privileged strata with medical facilities, SRKSM is also
engaged in imparting quality education to younger generations through colleges that
provide various professional and nonprofessional courses.

The founder of the trust believed in national development by creating responsible
citizens of tomorrow’s India by the means of proper education and training. Setting
up educational Institutes was the only possible way to fulfill this dream.

SRKSM made a humble start with Anand Arts College (1963), schools
(Kindergarten to H.S.C) and later established various other colleges for graduation
and post-graduation. The trust has won the vote of repute because of its selfless
activities and contribution for the cause of education. SRKSM believes in the
welfare of all, “Bahujan Hitaye Bahujan Sukhaye”. Today the trust proudly
announces to have more than 28 institutions involved in the holy task of educating
the children. Because of the foresightedness of the founder of SRKSM, the society
has been benefited by our deeds since more than 50 years.

Anand has become an educational hub of Gujarat catering all the courses to
knowledge seekers. At present more than 10,000 students are benefited within the
campus. The stakeholders are aware of the increasing demands of technology in
education and are ever ready to support and provide the same as and when needed.

Smt. Jyotsnaben Patel, Hon. Sec. of SRKSM is herself an educationalist. Under the
able guidance of the learned trustees the trust is working ahead in line with the
mission and vision of the Institute. The trust is striving hard to fulfill the dreams of
the founder with the same enthusiasm with which it had all commenced.

The SRKSM has taken initiatives to make students competent enough to face the
challenges of ‘ever changing’ 21st century. We visualize ourselves on the top in the
field of education by taking up the path of dedication and hard work paved by our
very own “Vakil Saheb”.

Various new institutes have entered the field of education which has made our task
a bit challenging but we are gearing up ourselves to face the challenges and impart
the best quality education to the citizens of tomorrow’s India. The college’s
buildings are modernized and well equipped with amenities for the comfort and
convenience of our students and the faculty members as well. The classrooms are
adequately modernized to aid better learning. The facilities include well-ventilated
class-rooms, audio-visual means like Over Head Projectors, Multimedia Projectors
and Conference Rooms. The trust is also involved in philanthropic activities by
providing facility of old age home – Ananddham, a home for the Aged since 1989,
and expresses concern for helpless, disowned and abandoned ages people.

After establishment of Matrumangalam hospital and Ananddham, the Mandal
ventured into the field of education by starting up Governement aided colleges.
Later many self-financed colleges and post-graduation courses were also started.
The Mandal has always emphasized on overall development of the students and
imparting quality education.

Anand Institute of Information Science, Anand was established in 2001 with a view
to imparting computer education to young students of surrounding areas and from
all over Gujarat. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU).
Anand Institute of Information Science offers three-year full time Master of
Computer Application (M.C.A.) programme with an intake of 60 students since
2001. The two year direct second year entry M.C.A. (MCA Lateral) programme
with intake of 60 seats has been started from year 2013.

The institute has been brightening the future of students by providing excellent
teaching, great academic atmosphere and inculcating high virtues of life for the last
thirteen years. It has been the endeavor of the institute to impart the spirit of
discipline, hard work, cooperation and higher ethical standard in the lives of its
students.

The institute authority is eager to keep pace with the constantly changing scenario
of I.T. world and the academic infrastructure is upgraded as a continuous process of
quality improvement. A constant focus on self-improvement and the untiring effort
and dedication of the college faculty and staff, as well as the unstinted support of
the Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal have contributed substantially in the progress and
development of the Institute.

The Institute has always tried to bring about an advancement in all aspects be it
infrastructure, technology, academics, research or administrative area. All Staff
members ensure that knowledge is efficiently imparted to the students through
innovative teaching practices like increased participation of students during theory
sessions, assignments, personal counseling, case studies, extra preparatory lectures
including guidance for various competitions, in-house projects and seminar
presentations etc.

The fast changes of globalization have forced the educational institutes to focus on
accepting international quality standards for higher education system. The
accreditation process helps an institute for improving all the aspects of education
system, this in turn helps to improve quality of students and their employability. The
accreditation for the educational Institute thus helps institute to get industry ready
students.

Our institute got accredited by NAAC with CGPA score 2.57 in the academic year
2008-09. We have applied for re-accreditation (2nd cycle) so that we can discover
the areas in which our institute can improve upon to provide a better ‘study-
environment’ for our students.
