STATEMENT OF NEED The purpose of this activity shall be to advance medical and scientific knowledge, understanding, and competence in the practice of neuropathology. The practice of neuropathology is understood to include diagnosis of diseases of the nervous system, scientific investigation into their causes, and teaching of neuropathologyprinciplestocolleaguesandtrainees. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Uponcompletionofthisactivity,participantsshouldbeableto: 1. Describenewadvancementsinmechanismsandetiologiesofneurologicdiseases. 2. Discussrecentadvancesinneurologicdiseaseresearch. 3. Evaluatenewmethodologicanddiagnosticknowledgethatcanimprovepatientcareinneuropathology.
