In the blink of an eye an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) has the capability to send us back to the dark ages.
    What would your life be like if the power failed? If there was no electricity, no gas, no phone, no internet, no television. Would you even know what had happened?
    How long would the food in your cupboard - right now, at this exact moment - last? And what about water? Without power to pump it to your home, how long will you and your family survive?
    Dark Days: The Long Road Home, follows the first week after an EMP as society begins to crumble and the reality of the dark days ahead begins to set in.

An EMP can be caused by a nuclear device being detonated high in the atmosphere, disabling all electronics in its line of sight, or by a solar storm like the one that occurred in 1859 when technology was still in its infancy. A more recent occurrence of a solar EMP is the one that shut down the Hydro-Quebec power grid that services Canada's Quebec province in 1989.
