The Baramul Stud-consigned colt, who was catalogued as Lot 269,
is the sixth living foal out of the juvenile winner Amalienborg (Danehill),
who is a sister to Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Danelagh
and a half-sister to Group Three winner Cable (Last Tycoon).
Danelagh is the dam of Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Dizelle
(Zabeel) and Hong Kong Horse of the Year Vengeance Of Rain (Zabeel).
Dizelle is also the dam of last year’s VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) winner Pinot
(Pierro).
His second dam is the the Perth Cup (Gr 2, 3200m) winner Palatious
(Semipalatinsk), who was a sister to stakes winners Memphis Blues,
Evasion and the stakes-placed Bluetinsk and Russian Trader.

Chalmers said Zoustar was a sire whose progeny he had monitored
since last year’s yearling sales series.
“I saw a lot of them when they were yearlings last year and they were
impressive horses, no doubt about that,” he said.
“We were a bit unlucky (on Tuesday) because we were under bidder
on the $300,000 Spirit Of Boom colt and went to $200,000 on Nicconi
and that horse didn’t have the pedigree that this horse has, so we were
pleased to get him for the price we did.”
Baramul Stud was the leading vendor by aggregate, with 22 yearlings
selling for $1,104,500 at an average of $50,205.
Soon after the session-topping Zoustar colt sold, Chalmers added a
Spirit Of Boom (Sequalo) filly for $100,000.
Catalogued as Lot 275 from the Eureka Stud-Cornerstone Stud
Partnership, the filly is the fifth foal out of the winning mare Animated
(Dehere), who is the dam of juvenile winner Congressional (Sebring).

“My grandfather Colin Hayes and Colin McAlpine had been friends
for many years and so have the Hayes and McAlpine families,” he said.
“When Scott was selling (the first crop) Spirit Of Booms last year all
around the country we agreed to buy into a few weanlings and we did the
