to act after figures from NHS

es are leaving the NHS in
England each year, with more
than 33,000 leaving last year.
The 'intern' programme – the
first of its kind in the country –
created a dedicated team of
experienced nurses to work as
mentors and coaches, to pre-
vent new nurses from becom-
ing disillusioned and demoti-
vated, and ultimately leaving
the trust or the NHS.
