My manuscript was completed before we knew the results of the election. As I write this preface, my father’s inauguration is only days away. These last nineteen months have been an amazing journey—and it’s just getting started. Inspiring and empowering women who work—at all aspects of their lives—has been my mission throughout my entire career. Today, I have the opportunity to take that work to new heights and advocate for change on a far greater scale than I’d ever imagined. Over the last year and a half, I’ve had the honor of traveling across our country, meeting the men and women of our great nation and listening to their hopes and dreams, their challenges and concerns. I have grown tremendously as a person, and the experience has been life changing. In these weeks following the election, I have been grateful for the overwhelming amount of outreach I’ve received from people across America who have shared their stories and offered to extend their ideas and expertise in the areas I am deeply passionate about, including the education and economic empowerment of women and girls; leveling the playing field for female entrepreneurs and job creators; and advancing the potential of women in our economy. When my father takes office as our nation’s forty-fifth president, I will take a formal leave of absence from both The Trump Organization and my apparel and accessories brand. On paper, this separation is straightforward, but emotionally, this was not an easy decision for me to make. I have known since I was a child that I wanted to be a developer and an entrepreneur.
