Who is (still) part of the game? Who has new ideas? What is the philosophy behind a collection? Time is running out and clear-cut information freed of unnecessary frills is what it takes. What counts are not advertising messages highlighted by distinctive visuals, but die-hard facts that help make a decision. And for this, there is only one solution: FASHION SQUARE – THE GUIDE. THE GUIDE – its concept and its format – is internationally unique, and has long stood for the who is who in high-end fashion. It is a popular and ideal working tool for buyers and is used by exhibitors as a high-profile image and information brochure. For years, leading international designers, the manufacturers of special fashion and agents are all listed with their respective relevant details. THE GUIDE is published as a print issue and is distributed in Germany (Düsseldorf, Munich) but also in Milan and in Paris. It can be downloaded from the Internet where additional useful detailed information is also available. The buyers pay major attention to the listed brands as well as the international showrooms where the brands can be ordered. Visitors to the Website come from 95 countries and 1,600 cities. It is clear that Düsseldorf is the favoured order location (Website THE NAMES http://fashion-square.net/12/business/the-names/). Within the fashion scene, the SHOWROOMS DÜSSELDORF Community reflects in a special way the global offer from the leading names: at around 400 individual showrooms www.mala-alisha.com roughly 1,000 exhibitors offer some 3,000 brands from 5 commodity groups. Jointly with the other players: the Showrooms (Hall 29/30, doubleU, Lighthouse), the trade fairs The Gallery, Supreme by munichfashion.company, Premium Order Düsseldorf and the fashion center in Düsseldorf (dfh) and Neuss (EUROMODA, IMOTEX, Haus Paris) – the industry can choose from an offer which is second to none in the whole of Europe: DÜSSELDORF – CAPITAL OF FASHION. “Fashion week” is the usual international designation for order events, which is why many exhibitors invite their customers to the fwD fashion week düsseldorf. Officially it lasts 9 days (February 02–10, 2013). This designation is also found in the press. Some exhibitors choose shorter periods and individual names. Others, for example, for reasons of tradition, wish to continue to invite their clientele to a CPD and the trade fairs prefer their self-given title. Fortunately, everything takes place within the 9 days of the Fashion Week. And again, at the end of the season in Germany and as always 4 weeks after the first run, the showrooms are open for 4 days (March 02–05, 2013), in time for the fwD fashion week düsseldorf, 2nd. La soluzione è: FASHION SQUARE – THE GUIDE. Cordialmente, Hans-J. Wiethoff Founder & CEO FASHION SQUARE 10
