I. You've no doubt heard a lot about selling physical products lately. In particular, selling on Amazon.com. But...why Amazon? Well, in a nutshell, because it is the single largest online store that has ever been and probably ever will be! If you are interested in e-commerce; and I assume you are since you've purchased this book, then Amazon is THE place to be to sell your physical products. Another, often overlooked, reason why you want to sell on Amazon is their Prime customer. When you allow Amazon to do the shipping, your products become eligible to be sold to Amazon's millions of Prime customers who get free 2-day shipping on orders of any size. So if a customer wants to buy only your $5 widget, it becomes easy and justifiable for them to place the order because there are no extra shipping costs involved. This increases your orders by as much as 30%! Not to shabby! So, “Should I sell there?” you ask. YES! “But isn’t there tons of competition?” YES, but it DOESN’T MATTER The Basic Strategy When Amazon.com opened up its platform to third party sellers, it 10 immediately created one of the greatest opportunities for online entrepreneurs that ever existed. Within a few short years over a million sellers of all sizes, from individuals to conglomerates, opened up shop on its pages, selling to over 225 million customers! There are several ways that you can choose to sell on Amazon, but I believe that the best method to achieve Amazon selling success is in selling private label products. Sometimes called White Labeling or Private Label Manufacturing, you are basically creating a brand by private labeling a product that already sells well on Amazon. This not only assures that you don't have to reinvent the wheel by trying to create and market something new, but it also prevents you from having to compete for the ―buy box‖ like retail arbitragers, wholesalers and drop shippers do when they sell other people's brands. With all other methods, you are competing with dozens of other sellers on Amazon to sell a particular product. So if there are 45 sellers of Johnny's Super Elastic Bubble Plastic, only one person gets the sale. All others have to wait and hope for the next turn. When you create your own brand you separate yourself from the pack by being literally the only seller who's offering your product. In doing so, you are able to keep all the profits, 100% of the time! The goal is therefore to find a product, create a brand, and then go on to create and sell multiple related products within that brand line, potentially in many different countries where Amazon does business. Amazon Advantages • Low cost start up lets you quickly correct mistakes if you fail the first time out
