The RAIserieswasdesignedtoexaminethewaysinwhichracismhasbecome, andremains,apartofthefabricofmanyAmericaninstitutions.Forexam- ple,whiletheUnitedStatesmayhavedoneawaywithovertlyracistpolicies suchasdisfranchisementlaws,racismstillaffectsmanyofAmerica’sestab- lishedinstitutionsfromthelocalvotingregistrartopoliticaladvertisements thatmarginalizecommunitiesofcolor.Lawenforcement,likemuchofthe Americanlegalsystem,issupposedtobeimpartial,andyetpeopleofcolor make up the majority of those incarcerated in American prisons.
