The goal of this publication is to be, as the title suggests, simple and classic. We also wanted a theme that was able to relate back to the school itself, and effectively portray each class as its own, classic story by high¬ lighting each individual grade's uniqueness. With a return of the theme to a more elegant design, the yearbook strives to be simply classic: "simple and classy" as well as "classic, no more; just as simple as that." It is to have class, be classy, and be classical. To take the title at face value, one would expect a classic, traditional book preserving this year's memories experienced by the students; the classic high school tale told through a timeless masterpiece. Delving a little deeper, the book strives to be classy. Not only does it preserve the memories but it does so with elegance and style. In pictures on In another play on words, within the High School there are opposite page: many meanings of the word "class." There is the upper class Craig Lynch, and under class, a class as a grade and even more specifically, Kym Obusek a subject class (e.g. math class). Most meaningfully, the term Rupal Bhakta, "class" means "group" which is what Weston High School Meg Srinivasan, is all together: a class of its own. Jenna Chopak Ali Russo, Nikki Kraus, Katie Venables ) THE THEME 3 J Benja: a beloved son, admired brother, and trusted friend. Benja and his father were caught in a mudslide in August of 2000 in Switzerland and passed away. Benja swam on the same swim team, played the same computer games, watched the same movies, and hung out with the same kids as many. He could always make people smile. He would quote or reference some obscure book that would answer the question under discussion. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Benja cared. He was a dependable, consistent source of comfort and friendship for many. He always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. A story often repeated on the swim team goes as follows: A coach once asked Benja what stroke he wanted to swim on the medley relay. Benja responded, “I like them all. Let the other three kids choose, and HI take whatever is left.” Benja was wise beyond his years, responsible beyond his grade, and respectful beyond his peers. He will be missed. Rowan Frankel and Tucker Wetmore - On behalf of the Class of 2006 4 DEDICATION I A musician DEDICATION 5 Franz Kafka wrote, 'The meaning of life is that it ends/' Being aware that my career as a public school educator would end following this school year has heightened my appreciation for every day. Students at Weston High have confirmed my optimism and have inspired me to match their ideals. A good community is one where people value and support each other, have opportunities to engage in their gifts and passions, and are challenged to expand comfortable limits. Weston High is such a place. I am grateful for the rich and wonderful experiences the 2005-06 school year presented. I have been going to school every year since September of 1953 and cannot imagine a better place to finish my formal schooling. It has been an honor to serve as your principal. Robert R. Desaulniers S.H.S. - Class of 1966 W.H.S. - Class of 2006 Mr. Desaulniers performs many important administrative duties for the Weston High School, but the students have also come to know him as he offers a more personal side to the office. Often times, he shows his support for the students at sporting events, concerts and theater productions. He is also known for greeting the students students before school in the early morning, with his coffee mug, even in the cold and windy weather. 6 MR. DESAULNIERS
