D No There's Place Like ... We.e.£1'-'tahic Hieh School Ne.wat'k~ New Je.t'se.y F. Joh~ L:o~e.t'o~ Pt'i~cipal 2010 vol. 7 6 Le.ee.~d To the Class of 2010, Soon you will be graduating and embarking upon the next phase of your life. You are probably experiencing some of the emotions associated with graduation. Excitement, anxiety, fear, joy, inquisitiveness, and fulfillment are only some of the words that can describe how you may feel as graduation approaches. Graduation is also referred to as commencement, which means a beginning. Beginning anew raises many questions. What will I be doing next September, when I would usually be returning to school? Will I be attending a new school and what will I be studying? Will I be working and what kind of job will I have? In what direction will my life be going? You will overcome your anxieties and things will fall in place. Your parents, teachers and guidance counselors will help you to gain the confidence to make sound decisions about the months and years ahead. The anxiety, fear and inquisitiveness will dissipate as you submit your college applications or make connections with future employers. You will experience a sense of fulfillment as you complete your final academic requirements and celebrate at your prom. Finally, graduation day will arrive and you will have the opportunity to gather with family, friends, classmates, teachers and administrators to celebrate your accomplishments. You will be awarded your high school diploma which will formally acknowledge that you have successfully completed your secondary course of study. I hope that you, the Class of 2010, remain focused, pursue your dreams, reach your lifelong goals, cherish family and friends, attain happiness and self- fulfillment and freely give of yourself to your community and those in need. God bless all of you! Your Proud Principal, John F. Tonero First, 1 would like to start by saying congratulations to the Senior Class of 2010 It's been four long years, but you've made it. Now you are closing the second chapter of your life's work. The third chapter begins the moment you walk across the stage. As you move on through life, don't ever forget what you've learned here at WHS. Always remember that you are welcome to come back. When you do come back, share your new experiences with those who are coming behind you. We have lost loved ones who cannot move on with you during your journey. Take their memories with you. You now belong to a fraternity of Weequahic Indian Alumni Make us proud, IP! Mr. Morse, Vice Principal Dear Class of 2010, All of those lessons learned and memories made here at Weequahic High School are already printed on the pages of your life and will profoundly impact your future. Thus, it is imperative that you remember to apply these fundamental lessons to the decisions you make in your adult lives. If you will, turn to the first page in which the lessons instilled in you is paramount. "To exercise good character daily is to be morally firm for life." Always remember "It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end." Warmest Wishes, Ms. Shirland, Vice-Principal It is with warm regards that I wish you well on your future journey. Know that this 1s a new beginning and not simply the end. Wherever your life may lead, know in your hearts that Weequahic High School has prov1ded you a foundation of wisdom and knowledge to carry you forth. It is with sincere pleasure that I have had the opportunity to meet and get to know each and every one of you. You will be missed. But, more importantly, you will be the ones to whom the next class aspires to be. The rigor to which you have been subject to here at Weequahic has not been in vain.
