27 January 2022 INSIDE THIS ISSUE: Passing of a Shipmate PASSING OF CAPTAIN ROBERT G. LAMARCHE DC, USN (RET) Shipmates, it is with deep regret that I inform you of the passing of Captain Robert Guy Lamarche, DC, USN (Ret). CAPT Lamarche, DC, USN (Ret.), 87, of Pensacola, FL, died Monday, January 10, 2022, at Baptist Hospital after a brief illness. Born on July 29, 1934, in Tupper Lake, NY, Robert was raised in St. Albans, VT. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Michaels College, Winooski, VT in 1956, Robert received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1960 from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA after which he embarked upon a 30-year career as an Officer in the Naval Dental Corps. Robert’s first assignment was in Vietnam where he served with the 1st Marine Division and was awarded the Bronze Star. In 1962, he married Sally Ann (Roberts) Lamarche, and they enjoyed extensive travels with the Navy which brought them to Pensacola, FL for his final duty station at NAS Pensacola. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Robert and Irene Cordellia Lamarche, his wife, Sally Ann (Roberts) Lamarche, and sister, Paule (Lamarche) Pembroke. Robert is survived by his sister, Lena (Lamarche) Smith of St. Albans, VT; son, Edmond Robert (Deanna Leigh Edgar) Lamarche of Cantonment, FL., daughter, Nicole Irene Lamarche of Santa Maria, CA, son, Daniel Frederick (Ashlie Alison Townes) Lamarche of Roswell, GA; grandsons, Paxton Sal, Aiden Don, and Hylan Guy Lamarche of Cantonment, FL, and Gavin Read and Adrian Frederick of Roswell, GA, his longtime companion, Patricia Ann Lamarche of Gulf Breeze, FL, and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral mass for the family will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, FL followed by a private viewing and graveside burial at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Daniel 100 Daniel Drive, Gulf Breeze, FL 32562. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Baptist Hospital’s SINU staff for their exceptional and compassionate care of Robert during his final days. Rest in Peace Captain Lamarche.
