Waterfall Waltz Calvin Campbell Waterfall Waltz is pure English Country Dance style and very pretty. The Dance was written by Pat Shaw. It is danced in a Sicilian Circle Formation. The tempo is quick. Here is a nice video of the dance. Click here. The video is from the Canberra Colonial Ball held by the Monaro Folk Society in 2012. Canberra is in Australia. Here is a second video that shows the styling better. Click here The instructions for the dance can be found here. I like the the detail in the instructions, but I felt the video image was to small to view properly. I located two recorded music versions that had the right number of measures for the dance Pat choreographed. You can listen to one recording by clicking here. The music is available as an MP3 on Amazon.com. Click here. The one with the correct number of measures is the “Mystic Dance Album” version. It only plays through three times so you will want to play it through twice for the dancers. The second version is available from the Lloyd Shaw Foundation. You can hear a sample by clicking here. This version plays for 4:40 minutes and their is also a prompted version available. This dance is great for Community Dances. I don’t use it at beginner dancer parties because beginners are terrified of waltzing.
