Vilarinho Author index 451 viii WASTES – Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities II – Vilarinho, Castro & Lopes (Eds) © 2018 Taylor & Francis Group, London, ISBN 978-1-138-19669-8 Preface Wastes: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities II contains selected papers presented at the 4th edition of the International Conference Wastes: Solutions, Treatments and Oppor- tunities, that took place on 25–26 September 2017, at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal. The Wastes conference, which takes place biennially, is a prime forum for academics and industry representatives from the waste management and recycling sectors around the world to share their experience and knowledge with all in attendance. The papers included in this book focus on a wide range of topics, including: Wastes as construction materials, wastes as fuels, waste treatment technologies, MSW management, recycling of wastes and materials recovery, wastes from new materials (nanomaterials, elec- tronics, composites, etc.), environmental, economic and social aspects in waste management and circular economy. All the articles were individually reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, who also contributed to the editing of the 69 articles presented. The editors wish to thank all reviewers, namely: Ana Cavaleiro Joana Dias Ana Luísa Fernando João Labrincha Anabela Leitão Joel Oliveira André Mota Jorge Araújo André Ribeiro José Carlos Teixeira António Brito Madalena Alves António Roca Margarida Gonçalves António Roque Margarida Quina Benilde Mendes Maria Alcina Pereira Carlos Bernardo Mário Costa Carlos Nogueira Miguel Brito Castorina Vieira Nídia Caetano Cristina Cunha Queda Nuno Lapa Fernanda Margarido Paulo Brito Gerasimus Lyberatos Regina Monteiro Isabel Ferreira Rosa Quinta-Ferreira Javier Viguri Susete Martins-Dias Joana Carvalho Victor Ferreira With this book we expect to contribute to the dissemination of state of the art knowledge, as well as present the results of real application studies in the waste management and treat- ment field towards a circular economy perspective.
