Description:This study analyzes and interprets exemplary poems and prose texts from the extensive work of the pre-revolutionary (Vormärz) author Gottfried Kinkel (1815-1882) from a historical and functional perspective. In addition, the work provides a (works) biographical outline of Kinkel's eventful life. Based on the texts, Kinkel's development is traced from a constitutional liberal to a radical democrat, and the respective formative literary-aesthetic and social conditions for his writing are shown.
