TheScopeofServices establishes whichitems ofworkdescribedinthePlans Preparation Manual andotherpertinent manuals toaccomplish theworkarespecificallyincludedinthis contract,and also which oftheitems ofworkwill betheresponsibilityofthe CONSULTANTortheDEPARTMENT. All plans anddesigndocuments aretobepreparedwithStandardEnglish values in accordancewithall applicableDEPARTMENTmanuals and guidelines. TheCONSULTANTshall beawarethat as aproject is developed,certain modifications and/orimprovements totheoriginal recommendationmaybe required.The CONSULTANT is toincorporatethese refinements intothedesign andwill considerthis effort tobean anticipatedandintegral part ofthework.This will not beabasis for anysupplemental fee request(s). TheCONSULTANTshall demonstrategoodproject management practices whileworking onthis project.Theseincludecommunicationwith theDEPARTMENTand others as Stage I FPID(S): 433455-3-32-01/4 August 2,2016 necessary,management oftimeandresources, anddocumentation.TheCONSULTANT shall set upandmaintainthroughout thedesignof theproject a contract file inaccordance withDEPARTMENTprocedures. It shall bethe CONSULTANT’s responsibilitytoutilize theverybest engineeringjudgment,practices, and principles possibleduringtheprosecution oftheworkcommissionedunderthis contract. TheDEPARTMENTwill providecontract administration,management services, and technical reviews of all workassociatedwiththedevelopment andpreparationofthe contract plans. TheDEPARTMENTwill providejob-specificinformationand/orfunctions as outlinedinthis contract. 2 PROJECTDESCRIPTION TheCONSULTANTshall investigatethestatus of theprojects andbecome familiarwith concepts and commitments (typical sections, alignments, etc.)developedfrom priorstudies. If aPreliminaryEngineeringPD&E,Planningor TrafficSafetyReports, are available,the CONSULTANTshall usetheapprovedconcepts as abasis forthedesign unless otherwise directedbytheDEPARTMENT. 2.1 Roadway(Activities 3.0,4.0and 5.0) Public Involvement: Level I Joint Project Agreements: N/A. Stage I August 2,2016 A-7 FPID(S): 433455-3-32-01/4 Miscellaneous Items: List items. 2.13 Geotechnical (Activity 30.0) Geotechnical services will beprovidedbytheDEPARTMENT Types ofboringsanduniquelabtests will beprovided as requestedbythe DEPARTMENT(,i.e.,roadway,structures, ponds, lighting,etc.) 2.17 ProjectSchedule Withinten(10)days aftertheNotice-To-Proceed, andpriortotheCONSULTANT beginningwork,theCONSULTANTshall provideaproject activity/event schedule forDEPARTMENTand CONSULTANTscheduledactivities requiredtomeet the current DEPARTMENT ProductionDate.Thescheduleshall bebaseduponthe DISTRICTSCHEDULE INFORMATION.Productionandlettingdates will be providedbytheDEPARTMENT.Nochangeofthesedates is allowedunless approved bytheDEPARTMENT.Thescheduleshall indicateall requiredsubmittals. (60,90 and100%Plans completed).Forthepurposeofscheduling,theCONSULTANTshall allowforafourweekreviewtimeforeachphasereviewandothersubmittals as appropriate. All fees andpriceproposals aretobebasedonthe negotiatedscheduleofprior establishedtimeforfinal plans production. However,thecontract deadline is determinedbythetimepriornegotiatedfrom the NoticetoProceed. Periodically,throughout thelifeoftheproject,the scheduleand curves shall be reviewed and,withtheapproval oftheDEPARTMENT,adjustedas necessaryto incorporate changes intheworkconcept andprogress todate. Theapprovedschedule andschedulestatus report,alongwith progress and payout curves, shall besubmittedwiththemonthlyprogress report. Thescheduleshall besubmittedinSuretrak,Primavera,orsystem-compatibleformat. 2.18 Submittals TheCONSULTANTshall furnish plans anddocuments as requiredbythe DEPARTMENTto adequatelycontrol,coordinate,andapprovetheplans. The CONSULTANTshall distributephasesubmittals as directedbytheDEPARTMENT. All Plans submittals forreviewingshall besubmittedinElectronicformat. CONSULTANTshall provide2CD’s withall requiredProject files alongwith3hard copies ofthePlans.
