It gathers together parents, healthcare experts from different disciplines, and scientists with the common goal of improving long-term health of preterm and newborn children. Our vision and activities are to ensu- re the best start in life for every baby with best possible treatments and care. www.espr.info The European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR) aims to promote paediatric research and post-gra- duate training in Europe. The Society aims to encourage collaboration between the various specialized fields of paediatrics, with the goal of maintaining paediatrics as a unified, scientifically orientated discipli- ne. It has involved into a dynamic and vibrant society which takes up wider societal responsabilities and has a succesful Journal in “Pediatric Research”. Within ESPR, the European Society of Neonatology (ESN) is responsible for education and training in Neonatology in Europe. In the past year a transition from ESN to a new Board of Neonatology (EBN) was realised to improve the representation of all European countries in the neonatal educational activities of ESPR. www.uenps.eu The mission of UENPS is to improve healthcare in the neonatal and perinatal medicine in the European countries. Main goals of UENPS are to improve quality in perinatal and neonatal care by integrating, coor- dinating and adding national and scientific societies’ efforts, to promote the knowledge of the perinatal indicators and to develop recommendations, guidelines, training of the healthcare providers and any other tool to achieve the best healthcare for every newborn and surveillance of neonatal rights wherever they are born. SUPPORTED BY 44 Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends, The European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR), the European Society for Neo- natology (ESN), the Union of European Neonatal and Perinatal Societies (UENPS) and the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI) have combined their efforts for the 2nd Congress of joint European Neonatal Societies (jENS 2017). The congress promises yet again to be a unique event in the field of neonatology. The congress will highlight best scientific research and clinical care programmes avai- lable nowadays. You will also have access to sessions where world-leading experts will cover a wide range of topics in neonatology, ranging from state-of-the-art basic and clinical research to patient-centred care and clinical guidelines. A panel of more than 130 leading international experts who have personally contri- buted to the state of the art will review cutting-edge developments in the areas of neonatal care and research, which are particularly active today. Networking and interactivity between renowned expert’s participants, Key Opinion Leaders, industry and the Organising Societies - will be the keywords of this congress. Innovative and interactive tools such as specially designed apps, jENS TV, interacti- ve e-posters, interactive communications between speakers and the audience and much more will make this congress a truly pioneering experience. The 2nd edition of the congress comes to the most famous Italian city. Venice, with its combining spectacular buildings, incredible charm, and a true touch of romance was ranked the most beautiful city in the world.
