Late Fees: $50.00LATEPAYMENTCHARGEONEACHBILLING foralllatebill paymentorlatebill clearance. $50.00 charge for all students with late registration determined by the Registrar. 13 TUITION SURCHARGE POLICY The Board of Higher Education has recently passed a tuition surcharge policy. Students who earn more than 118% of the required credits needed for graduation will be required to pay at the out-of-state rate for any additional credits. At UMass Boston this surcharge will be assessed to students who register for courses after earning 141 graduation credits. There are several exceptions to this policy: a. Students who transferred into UMass Boston are exempt. b. Transfer credits taken after enrolling at UMass Boston are excluded from the total credits earned. c. Credits earned through the Division of Continuing Education are excluded from the total. d. Credits earned for programs requiring more than the normal 120 credits are • also excluded. I REFUND POLICY The University ofMassachusetts has two refund policies for tuition, fees and other charges. One applies to students in their first semester ofenrollment who are federal Financial aid recipients (POLICY A); the second applies to all other students (POLICY B). POLICY A Students who cease enrollment after 60 percent ofthe semester has elapsed and are Financial aid recipients (in their first semester of enrollment) receive a refund ofthe percentage rounded down to the nearest 10 percent ofthe semester. For example, a student who withdraws 57 percent ofthe way through the first semester of enrollment receives a refund of40 percent oftuition fees and other charges. POLICY B Students who cease enrollment before the completion ofthe first 5 weeks ofany semester (following their first semester of enrollment) are refunded tuition and fees according to the following schedule. CLEP Exams: Testing Center (M-3-612) UMass Boston is an open CLEP center. CLEP (College Level Proficiency Examination Program) exams are given on the third Thursday ofeveiy month.
