T Grade (a) The I-Grade shall be awarded to a student under the following circumstances:- If a student fails to fulfil all the requirements of the course(s) because of his/her (I) [Revised as per sudden illness or mishap/accident supported by Medical Certificate issued by the decision of Medical Officer of the Institute. However, if the student is outside the campus at 46 Meeting of th the time of illness or mishap/accident, the Medical Certificate need to be issued by BOG held on 24th a Medical Officer of the rank of the Deputy Chief Medical Officer or above of the March 2007] concerned district. The Institute reserves the right to accept or reject such an application and the decision of the Dean shall be final in this respect. iimi 11111, 11,1001'11 11°1 '44 4 011111.1Y I HI II ilix11,11n4 .141 11 [ 4/11T %UMW' : 9 The concerned course co-ordinator on being convinced about the circumstances of the case as per a) above should certify the attendance records and based on this certification, HOD concerned should recommend the case to the Dean for award of I-Grade to the student. After approval of the Dean, a notification will be issued. A copy of the notification will be endorsed to Senate. If a student has attendance above 75% in the course(s), but is unable to appear in End-semester examination in the course(s) for reasons given at a) above, the student shall be awarded I-grade and shall be permitted to appear in the End- Semester examination in course(s), in which he/she was absent, within 10 days of the last day of the Mid-term examination in the following semester on the basis of the application made by the student that is duly certified by the course coordinator and recommended by the Head of the Department to the Dean. (4) If a student has attendance between 50% and 75% during the semester because of reasons specified at a) above, the course coordinator in consultation with the Head of the Department may permit the student to fulfil requirement of his/her attendance by giving assignments on topics not attended by the student and a record of the assignments shall be maintained. The student shall be permitted by the Dean, after ensuring that necessary formalities pertaining to attendance have been fulfilled by the student above to appear in the end-semester examination. (b) Mid-term Examination: If a student in case of any exigency or otherwise remains absent in the mid-term examination, the course coordinator shall assign 0 marks to the student. (g ) Supplementary Examination: a student secures E or F grade(s) in not more than 2 courses, he/she shall be If required to sit in a supplementary examination as per para 18. The examination will be held within 10 days of the last day of the Mid-term examination in the following semester. If a student has attendance of 75% or more but is unable to appear in examination in the course(s) for reasons other than those specified for awarding I-grade, the student shall be required to appear in the end-semester examination next year, in the semester when the examination for the course(s) is being offered. The student shall not be required to attend the classes afresh and can simultaneously pursue course(s)/dissertation of the subsequent semester(s). If a student has attendance of less than 75% and fails to appear in the examination in course(s), he/she will be required to repeat the course(s), next year, in the semester when the course(s) is being offered. The student shall attend classes, complete all requirements of the semester, appear in mid-term and end-semester examination afresh. If the attendance of the student has fallen below 50%, the course(s) need to be repeated next year, in the semester when the course(s) and examination is/are being offered, as detailed above.
