L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India EXTRAORDINARY PART III—Section 4 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2002/PAUSA 25, 1923 147 GI/2002 (1) 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA: EXTRAORDINARY [PART IE—SEC. 4] TARIFF AUTHORITY FOR MAJOR PORTS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 15th January, 2002 No. TAMP/19/2001-NMPT.—In exercise ofthe powers conferredby Section 48 of the Major Port Trusts Act 1963 (38of 1963), the Tariff Authority for Major Ports hereby approves the proposal ofthe New Manglore Port Trust for an extension of the validity ofthe revised rates of levy applicable to the services of its Registered Cargo Handling Workers Wing as in the Order appended hereto. ORDER Case No. TAMP/19/2001 -NMPT The New ManRalore Port Trust (NMPT) Applicant (Passed on this 11 th day of January, 2002) This Authority had passed an Order on 9th August, 2001 revising rates of levy applicable to the services ofthe New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) Registered Cargo Handling Workers Wing. The NMPT was then advised to formulate within 6 months its proposal for switching over to a commodity-wise per-tortne rate with productivity linkage for deploy- ment of Registered Cargo Handling Workers. The validity ofthe revised rates was, therefore, fixed upto 31st January, 2002 only. 2. The NMPT has now intimated that the exercise to formulate the proposal for a commodity-wise per-tonne rate with productivity linkage Tor deployment of Registered Cargo Handling Workers has already been started and the proposal will be sent separately. The NMPT has therefore, requested to extend the validity ofthe existing rates levy upto 31st March, 2(X)2. 3. Recognising the fact that the NMPT has initiated action to formulate the proposal as directed, this Authority is inclined to accede to the request ofthe NMPT. Accordingly, the validity ofthe existing rates oflevy applicable to the services ofthe NMPT Registered Cargo Handling Workers Wing is hereby extended upto 31 st March, 2002, S.
