Underground Stream The Other History of Christianity Copyright Gary Douglas Stern www.garydouglasstern.com www.lostthoughtchannel.com Chapter One Antecedent Chapter Two White Stone Club Chapter Three Weekend Chapter Four First Crew Chapter Five Second Crew Chapter Six Rock Chapter Seven Stream 1 PREFACE In wondering what the ‘S’ stood for in Archaya S, as a part of absorbing her contributions to new truth history of the Jesus Advent years, it seemed that this might be a prescient presentation of the authoress herself, in recognition that she may receive ‘sainthood’ from the Christian Spiritual tradition within a hundred years. Imagine that. But why? Because Archaya S. is among those whom have offered Christians who were trying to carry mythology-idolism into a new 2000’s first century, a swift kick wake-up call, to look again to both the honesty of their hearts, and to the truth preferences of their own Wayshower, Jesus, in evaluating who they really are as followers, what they are doing as followers, and what they may have overlooked. There are other names like Sir Laurence Gardner, Ralph Ellis, Margaret Starbird, Lesa Whyte, Christopher Knight, Robert Lomas, Carla Ricci, Robert Eisenman, Barbara Thiering, and Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy, Tricia McCannon, Jeffrey Daugherty, and of course Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln, who all unofficially stand in the same imaginary lineup as (saint) Archaya, that deserve a word of thanks from Christians … but will not receive it. Nevertheless, for the Christian Spiritual tradition, and all the folks who call themselves followers of Jesus, as they adjust their outlook and priorities in order to pilgrimage forth, their best efforts into the new millennium, it is probably the above group of critical researchers, who have determinedly borne to them just the gifts they most need to succeed in their continuing journey: some facts toward the Truth, that their Prophet promised them (John 8) would ‘set them free’. 2 In fact that final Gospel, the Book of John speaks of the Truth throughout in many different ways. John 16 actually speaks of a time when the Spirit will guide all Jesus’ followers toward Truth. It would seem that our era for Christians may be that time, giving Christians a new opportunity to stand in their world with the real facts of Jesus’ life, a stand that may release a power to them that could come from concentrating on the Teaching for Compassion and Deeds of their beloved Wayshower, rather than the Roman concoction of their pre-destined superiority exalting Jesus as Jupiter. PROLOGUE Over the years in business in Asia, newcomers from western locales often ask about what it will be like dealing with diverse Spiritual tradition business persons. Asian Christians themselves, sometimes utilize Paul’s oxen-imaged comments in his letters in the bible, in talking about ‘yoking oneself with others properly’. This sort of question naturally led to some personal rumination, and eventually a conclusion emerged, which seems to have stood the test. The ‘oxen thing’ is best voluntarily brought up at the earliest occasion, with the recommendation that the best acceptance of the advice of Paul’s letter about equal-yoking, would call for joining a good Buddhist in some cases, sincere Muslims or Hindus or Daoists, in other situations. I have come to caution people thinking on this subject, about assumptions, about bigotry, as followers of a Wayshower who told us he did not come to overthrow the law and the Prophets (Matt 5). A look at the experiences that led to this conclusion, brought some concern that the commitment to fairness and mercy in the affairs of the day, seemed to be secondary with modern Christian followers, to their 3 assumptions about belonging to the right spiritual club. Curious decisions of the heart, can result from that sort of mindset. I wondered where this had come from in the following of a Wayshower, who pleaded for unlimited forgiveness, unlimited humility, and love-giving in all matters, and toward all people, as he sharply demonstrated to us, with the Centurion (Matt 8) and the Canaanite woman (Matt 15), and casually demonstrated to us, with masses of teaming crowds of unknown persons. At the same time in those late twentieth century and early twenty first century years, like many, I read on through books created from new analysis of historical scenes from ancient Egypt through the history of the Jews, then the history of the Christians. These new-look histories advocated some presentation adjustments for Christianity on its own important installment of the Enoch – Zarathustra - Moses – Isaiah – Jesus - Muhammad combined Spiritual traditions of the West and near East. Those combined Spiritual traditions today, have allegiance from 3 to5 billion souls, and over half the governments in the scheme we look to as our mutual civilization. Therefore, the effect of Christians choosing to modify their own presentation -- within a new determined benevolent thrust of the whole effort of all Spiritual traditions in our 2000’s century --- could change much for the good, and do much for those who are not sure about Christianity as it has been presented. Familiar with Malaysian society’s sincere commitment to concern for the welfare of all citizens, half of whom are Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, by a political establishment, that is officially and sincerely Islamic, I could only feel disappointment that in counter distinction to one such hopeful example for our new century, that leaders in Christianity in the U.S., seemed to be educating for a posture of adversity. But then, at just that moment of worry about the slip-sliding away toward hatreds, an Awareness hit that the new information offered by the modern history sleuths (particularly of the clan mentioned in the Preface), 4 might be the key to an updated perception, which could bring about solutions to this modern problem of ‘confrontational Christianity’. Such a restart would be beneficial, and could lead to a conclusion that the new fact-finding of the past sixty years, would eventually be seen as glad tidings to mankind. This whole exercise of various history reexaminations, was in fact triggered in the 1940’s, by a first installment of new data, downloaded from our ancestors, who utilized a sealed earthen jar email system, to reach us… in just this present era. That is a little bazaar, but in our times, any ox, sincere for the spiritual success of all oxen, will need all the assistance in all truth, that can be brought to light. In recognition of the spiritual traditions of all citizens of civilization, ‘Before Common Era’ and ‘Common Era’ date labels of BCE / CE will be used here, rather than BC and AD. Gary Douglas Stern Malaysia 2005 Updated 2017 5 Chapter One ANTECEDENT They have been rewriting the tale of Joseph and Moses in Egypt. In fact, they have been rewriting understandings of things, which affect the average modern understanding of all familiar personages, from Noah to St. Peter. With the motivation from excitement of new discovery, or the motivation of proving every historian and archeologist of the past wrong, or the motivation of selling a book, new discoverers and researchers now bring us all a changed story-line for the life of Joseph’s people in their stay, in the land of the Pharaohs, and Moses’ adventure in the departure. We, curious, follow, very interested ourselves to know of all the hidden histories and secret biographies, of the newly revealed histories of our cultures, just like we are intrigued about famous persons and events in our own times. Sometimes the exercises toward Truth, make more than a cameo appearance, jolting us into realizing that some of these new issues of history are more difficult for us to take in, than others, because some issues affect things that we feel have been writ right into our gene pools. Those types of discoveries leave many coming away, with sections of their emotion structures suddenly demanding proof from ‘new history’ and ‘new archeology’, while simultaneously flashing lifetimes memories of participating in Easter services, Passover meals, Vesak day memorials. There are some things in the modern ‘rewrite’ histories of spiritual icons, which seem to weigh in with that sort of importance, and those are 6 the things which send some of us off to renew in passion, our personal votive offerings to Truth… while others decide to dig positions defensive. The ‘new take’ on the history of the Jewish nation in Egypt, is one of these attention-seizing items, for both Jewish followers and Christian, and that new-take starts at the very beginning of the traditional story of Judaism, with Abraham. It had always been stated that Abraham had left his native city of Ur in Sumeria (modern Iraq) and made a new home in Canaan (Palestine), in some period after 1900 BCE, when history records that his Sumerian societies were overrun. Abraham’s grandfather in Ur, had married into the Ur ruling families, so it was always known that Abraham came from a prominent family line. Genesis tells us that sometime after settling in Canaan, Abraham’s group faces a famine, and travels to Egypt to buy grain. There, when the Pharaoh indicates he likes Abraham’s wife, Sarah, Abraham says, ‘actually this is my sister’, and wife Sarah becomes ‘Mrs. Pharaoh’. It looks like a curious thing for Abraham and Sarah to do… unless it was in fact a plan. In this Genesis take, Abraham and all his heirs, are portrayed as successful shepherds, but even in the Genesis rendering they seem to have the trappings of wealth, and the hint of royal power, that gets them audiences with Pharaohs. Since the time of Abraham is thought to be the time, when the Hyksos kingdom from the Palestine area, dominated Egypt, and since the Hyksos people were also Semites, modern evaluations suggest that Abraham and his Semite people, eventually had some authority in Egypt, in connection with the Semitic cousinly Hyksos, who were referred to as Shepard Kings. This all presents a new point of view for history, by which the Jewish families would have one Exodus at 1500’s BCE time when the Hyksos were driven out, and many of Abraham’s descendents left with them, and then another later Exodus, (possibly in the 1300’s BCE) led by Moses. Sent out of Egypt to Canaan the first time, Abraham’s descendent Jacob, then sees one of his sons Joseph, end up back in Egypt, and then even becoming the Vizier of Egypt, as a result of a chain of events, that began with his brothers trying to do away with Joseph. If a relationship with Egypt’s Pharaoh families this time, developed from Joseph’s time, then the 7 most important individual in the Hebrews-in-Egypt story, Jacob’s descendent, Moses, would have been from an influential family from the start, and the Hebrew slavery would have only been the result of a second purge of his Hebrew part of the ruling Pharaoh aristocracy. Moses has always been presented as an Egypt court figure, supposedly because he had been hidden as a baby in the swamp by his mother, where he was discovered by an Egyptian princess (a story that is already a little unusual, as it is a repeat of the bulrushes story of Sargon, who became the great King of Sumeria, 2000 years before Moses). Such a quirk of fate, in his infancy thus allowed Moses to be raised in the Egyptian court. But this view, like that of ‘shepherd Abraham’, in the new light, gives way to a thought by modern historians that all these particular Jewish families were in one way or another actually related by marriage, to the authority and the wealth of the Pharaohs of Lower Egypt (northern Egypt of the lower Nile before the Nile flows into the delta and the Mediterranean Sea), from Abraham’s time on. (Historians Flavius Josephus and Philo Judeaus both tell us Moses mother was of Egyptian royalty in the first place.) Thus, the new history for Moses, believes he was in fact a son of a line of the Pharaoh’s family, because another later Joseph, a Second Vizier Joseph had married the Pharaoh’s daughter, and the descendents of the Joseph marriage had held powerful positions, by Moses’ time. The similarity between the name ‘Moses’ and the names of the ‘Tuth-mosis’ and ‘Ah- mose’ lines of Pharaohs of these times, has also long been noted. Something went wrong around the time of Moses’ birth, and the Egyptians decided that the Hebrews had become too powerful. Sons of Hebrew lines of the palace were to be put to death, less they claim for themselves the Pharaoh’s throne for their own clan. Research historian Sir Laurence Gardner pointed out that Moses’ miracles before the Pharaoh, white shining hand, and all, were traditional powers of Pharaohs, and therefore the demonstrations of Moses and Aaron were really a customary ‘Pharaoh family demonstrations’, to show that Moses had the right himself, to replace the ruling Pharaoh. Moses’ mother had had Moses at the remote summer palace by the waterways (the bulrushes) at Goshen, in this new version story, and quickly 8
