as Mike Meyerson. Mr. Meyerson represented himself as Angela

Davis' advance security man.

At this meeting general considerations of the security pertaining
to the Ibis Cafeteria and Ms. Davis were discussed. Mr. Meyerson
inquired as to the number of police officers that would be on duty.
No number was given. It was also explained that there would be
no traditional uniformed police in the area. He was informed that
the City of Coral Gables and the Dade County Public Safety Department
police have been informed and that they would have some plain clothes
officers on duty. Mr. Meyerson was explained the Security Department's
function on authority as far as being deputized police officers.
Mr. Meyerson wanted uniformed police from the city, not plain­
clothesmen. Mr. Meyerson departed with the two UBS representatives
to look over the lecture site.
On Friday, 2 April 1976, Mr. Meyerson appeared in my office by himself.
At this meeting, Mr. Meyerson eXpressed his concern of me not having
uniformed police in the area. Again# the procedure was explained
that we have never used uniformed police with the security of any
of our guests.
The question of how I would handle any demonstration was brought up.
It was explained that since this lecture was open to the public, no
final procedures had been arrived at as to just how demonstrators would
be handled. Mr. Meyerson was surprised to learn that I would permit
any demonstrators to come on the campus. Again, it was explained that
the lecture was open to the public. Also, it is conceivable that a
student group may demonstrate. In all probability, I would establish
a demonstrating area on the patio or a location that would not interfere
with those attending the lecture.
On Saturday, 3 April at 11:30 a. m., I met with Mr. Meyerson in the

United Black Students' office. He introduced me to a Don Alexander
