There occur two unnamed patrobine carabidbeetles belonging to thegenus Apat・,obusinwesternHonshu,Japan.0neofthembelongsto theechigonusgroup. ItwasfoundonMt.0e-yamainKyotoPrefecture,whichisthewesternmost locality of thatgroupso far known.Theotheroneisamemberof thehikosanusgroup. It wascollectedonnorthernmountainsinOkayamaPrefecture.Boththespeciesare, however,clearlydistinguishedfromtheirrelativesbyseveralcharacteristicsandmust benewtoscience. Inthisarticle, Iwilldescribetheformerspeciesunder thename Apatrobusodanakaisp nov., and thelatterunder thenameA yamajiisp nov. The abbreviationsusedhereinarethesameasthoseexplainedinotherpapersofmine. Length(measuredasintheprecedingspecies)8.8-10.2mm;width 3.2-3.8mm.Black,shiny;labrum,mandibles,antennae,femoraandtibiaedarkreddish brown;palpiandtarsireddishbrown. Thepresent newspeciesresemblesA nlshiawaku,ae(HABU)(1980,p. 47)in9enera1appearanceandoccursinacloseproximity,butisclearlydiscriminated fromthelatterbypunctateintervalsofelytraanddifferentconfigurationofmale 9enitalia.ThespecieswasnamedafterMr.0samuYAMAJI,whoiskeenlyinvestigating thecoleopteranfaunaofOkayamaPrefecture. 要 約 笠原須磨生:本州西部産ヌレチゴミムシの2新種. - 京都府の大江山で発見されたオオェャマヌ レチゴミムシApatrobusodanakaiと,岡山県北部の山地に分布するヤマジヌレチゴミムシAyamaJ・iiを 記載した.前種はェチゴヌレチゴミムシ群echgionatsgroupに属し,本群の分布域のなかでもっとも西 に分布するものである.一方,後種はヒコサンヌレチゴミムシ群hikosantlsgroupに属し,近似のニシ アワクラヌレチゴミムシAntshiawakurae(HABU)と分布域を接しているが, 上翅間室に点刻のあるこ とや,雄交尾器の形態が相違していることで明らかに区別できる.
