Description:
"The Truth About Human Origins" dedicates the first 100 pages of the book to informing the reader about the fossil record in regards to human evolution. The authors discuss all the relevant fossils that are commonly used to advance the theory of human evolution, and show that there is no `chain' of fossils of human evolution. The rest of the book deals with the insurmountable problem that evolutionists face in trying to account for the human consciousness. Unfortunately the author don't use their own expertise (PhD's in neurobiology and micro biology) to discuss the topics at hand, instead they do an extremely comprehensive survey of the literature to provide the reader with a book almost akin to a `quote book'. The reader will not find a page without at least two lengthy quotes, and for me this became somewhat frustrating. I was expecting the book to be filled with research data which would lead the reader to a conclusion. But instead what I found was that the book merely quoted scientists on what their thoughts were on the subject of the origin of human consciousness. Though it is very interesting to hear the candid confessions of evolutionary scientists, I found that 350 pages of scientists `thoughts' became quite dull and boring. Though this book deals with all aspects of human consciousness, the origin of language and communication, the origin of the brain and mind, gender, sexual reproduction and the origin of skin and blood types, it does so in a `third hand' kind of way, and I feel as though the authors expertise and talents were thoroughly wasted. "The Truth of Human Origins" has some good information and some parts (like the review of the fossil record) that are worth the read, I just wish the authors had `cut-the-fat' so that you didn't have to wade through all the dull, boring and unnecessary bits to get to the better parts.
