Vadim Kosmatschof im MUSEUM RITTER jeher im schöpferischen Interesse von Künstlern.
Der russische Bildhauer und Bioniker Vadim
Kosmatschof beschäftigt sich auf visionäre
Gerda Ridler
Weise mit einem der aktuellsten Themen
unserer Zeit, dem ökologischen Gleichgewicht.
Seit vielen Jahren widmet sich der Künstler
der Visualisierung des emissionsfreien
Energiekreislaufes und sensibilisiert mit seinen
kinetischen, der konstruktivistischen Tradition
verpflichteten Plastiken das Kunstpublikum für
ökologische Kontexte.
Im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Bewegung im
Quadrat. Das Quadrat in Malerei, kinetischer
Kunst und Animation“, die vom 22. Oktober 2006
bis 15. April 2007 im MUSEUM RITTER gezeigt
wird, nimmt die Skulptur „Unfolding Square“
von Vadim Kosmatschof einen zentralen Platz
ein. Die Schau gibt am Beispiel des Quadrats
Einblicke in das große Feld des Kinetischen und
Optisch-Bewegten und spürt der spannenden
geschichtlichen Entwicklung seit der Mitte der
1950er Jahre sowie dem Interesse aktueller Kunst

of ecological contexts with his kinetic sculptures in
the constructivist tradition.
In the exhibition “Movement in a Square. The Square
in Painting, Kinetic Art and Animation”, which took
place from October 22, 2006 to April 15, 2007 at the
MUSEUM RITTER, Vadim Kosmatschof’s sculpture
“Unfolding Square” was of central importance.
Focusing on squares, the exhibition offered insights
into the broad field of kinetic and optical art, tracing
its exciting historical development since the late
1950s and exploring the interest in this genre that
has emerged among the current generation of artists.
In cooperation with the Viennese architectural
firm Veech Media Architecture (VMA), Vadim
Kosmatschof presented a 1:3 scale model of a
projected large-scale sculpture for public space.
