TOWN OF SALISBURY Citizen of the Year Albert Britton J. The Board of Selectmen and the Old Home Day Committee are pleased to announce the selection ofAl Britton as the 2003 Citizen of theYear. Al enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1942 and is a veteran of the KoreanandVietnamwars.Heretiredfromthemilitaryin 1970,moved to Salisbury,andbecameaUS HistoryteacherattheMerrimackValley High Schoolin Penacook.Manyofourcitizenswerefortunateenough to have Mr. Britton as theirteacher. Hewas the Congressional District Coordinatorfor"WethePeople"nationalcompetitionSchoolProgram from 1983 to 1992. Al served as a Salisbury Selectman from 1980 to 1983. For the last fifteenyears,Al hasbeen thechauffeurfortheCitizen oftheYearin the Old Home Day parade. For the past five years, he has been an avid supporteroftheTownDecoratingCommitteehelpingwiththeChrist- mas decorations in the town buildings and washingdishes at the Har- vest Supper fundraiser. And to act upon the following subjects at the Business Meeting at 7:30p.m. 2. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $605,000 for the construction ofa new SafetyBuilding, and to au- thorizetheissuanceofnot morethan$550,000ofbondsornotesin accordance with the provisions ofthe Municipal FinanceAct (RSA 33) andtoauthorizetheSelectmentoissueandnegotiatesuchbonds ornotes andto determine the rate ofinterestthereon;furthermore, toauthorizethewithdrawalofupto$55,000fromtheBuildingsand GroundsCapitalReserveFundcreatedforthispurpose.(TheSelect- men and BudgetCommittee recommendthisappropriation.)
