As were several other towns, it was named in honor ofThomas Pelham Holies, Duke of Newcastle, Earl of Chichester and England's Secretary of State. Demographics: 2007 Census: 2,528 residents. The median age is 38.0. Total number of household units is 988. Population Density 2007: 117 persons per square mile of land area.
