Another network of interest is the Swedish tourism academic network NATU, of whichhewasthechairmanin2006and2013.Hehasbeenastrategicpartnerleader for EU-research projects, publishing articles on community engagements and destination development. As the chairman of the Business Council for Tourism Departmentsince2002,hehasinitiatedseveralappliedresearchprojects. NicolaBellini isafullProfessorofEconomicsandManagementattheInstituteof Management of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa, Italy—currently on leave) andDirectoroftheLaRochelleTourismManagementInstituteattheGroupeSup de Co, La Rochelle (France). He is a former Director of IRPET, the Regional Institute for Economic Planning of the Tuscany Region (Florence, Italy), and a formerTrusteeoftheRegionalStudiesAssociation.HealsoworksfortheEuropean Commission as an expert on smart specialization strategies for European regions. His research interests include local and regional development policies (with a special focus on innovation, internationalization, and tourism), business support services,areamarketing,andplacebranding.
