In con- trast, seasonally flooded forests are generally less disturbed and rarely visited by people. All three aforementioned localities are within the Lowland Moist Forest formation (Holdridge 967), characterised by a high mean annual temperature (>24 ºC) and high mean annual precipitation (2000–4000 mm) with marked wet and dry seasons.
