Those questions are reasonable, but in fact, they underline a lack of awareness of what is really important in the realm of resistance training.

In most cases, people can’t get where they want to, because they don’t have a system. They don’t have an understanding on prioritization, and they can’t differentiate between what matters and smaller details.

Honestly, I think that the fitness industry as a whole needs to take responsibility for this lack of awareness. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen articles and videos claiming that they have the perfect workout for you. Those videos and articles give the impression that programs are distinct “things” rather than just the manipulation of volume, intensity, and frequency over time. Instead, the persons giving you those information focus on the merits of certain rep ranges, exercises, and weekly routine in isolation. The problem Is that we don’t perform just one rep range, exercise or training.
