In these pages are many unforgettable memories that will always be treasured. Some we wish we could erase and others we want to hang onto for many years to come. Looking back on it all. the production of this book has at times been long and strenuous but at other times an experience that will always be cherished. I (Angie) would like to thank Tarifen for her hard work and dedication. Without her I’m positive that we could not have made all of our deadlines on time. And I (Tarifen) would like to thank Angie for always telling me not to worry and that we would make it on time. Together we would like to thank Ms. Sutherland and Ms. Pappius for their help with both events and elementary school photographs. A big thank-you to the athletics department for capturing our athletes in action. Finally we would like to thank Ms. Palumbo for her constant support and organization, without her we would still be stuck at the beginning. With all their help this year s yearbook has become something that we can all be proud to call our own. For next year s editors, a word of advice: be organized, don't procrastinate and always remember to have fun. "Life is something that happens when you can’t get to sleep.” ~ Fran Lebowitz Your Editors. Angie Chan Tarifen Sikder Published in Canada Printed in USA Those of us who work at schools are very fortunate. Every day we find ourselves in an environment that is full of energy, optimism, activity and growth. Working with young people is a constantly rewarding experience and through every activity and situation, both students and those who teach them learn and grow. The past school year has been especially memorable. Stu¬ dents have been involved in exciting “integrated” learning experien¬ ces, where they have used the skills and knowledge gained in various subject areas to tackle real-life problems. The girls have also been ac¬ tive on over 30 different sports teams, participated in the school’s first annual Wellness Day and learned to work together to resolve conflict. They have sung together in assemblies and in smaller grade-specific choirs, played in the bands and acted brilliantly on stage. They have shown their passion and commitment to make a difference in the world through community service projects. Youth in Action month, and our annual Model United Nations conference. We have also been fortunate to hear from a number of inspirational speakers this year, including Irshad Manji, Susie Ruttan, Andreanne Morin, Chantal Petitclerc and Shobha Sharma. The most important relationships in a school, of course, are those between students and their teachers and Study girls benefit from the commitment and passion of their teachers, who work hard to develop a sense of community both at a school-wide level and within each class or team. Much credit for the success of the past year goes to them, along with our administrative support team who keep us all going! The girls of the class of 2005 have also provided wonderful leadership to the school community. They are a very talented group of artists, scientists, actors and athletes! Above all, they are generous and caring individuals who have had a huge and positive impact on the school. It is with great pride (mixed with some sadness), that we bid them farewell as they embark on their next life adventure. I have full confidence that they will be happy and healthy adults who will fulfill their dreams and a make a difference in the world. Please keep us posted, girls! The Study is a busy place for all of us and this yearbook provides a snapshot of the opportunities and challenges that our students and staff have encountered in the 2004-05 school year. Many thanks to editors, Tarifen Sikder and Angie Chan and the rest of the yearbook team, along with staff advisor, Anna Palumbo, for compiling this wonderful collection of memories.
