While on suspension from Birmingham CID, police sergeant David Mallin is brought to Killington Towers by his friend Elsa to oversee security for Hilary Keane’s valuable art collection.
In an attempt to raise funds to preserve his stately home, Keane has decided to open the Grand Hall of Killington Towers as an art exhibition.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is Keane’s prized possession — a Chinese porcelain vase from the T’ang Dynasty.
But during David’s first nightshift at Killington Towers, he is knocked unconscious in the Grand Hall by a mystery attacker.
He awakens to find Keane’s prized T’ang vase smashed to pieces — and fellow guest Cameron Frazer murdered.
Was the vase broken during the murder?
Or was the murder an offshoot of an attempted robbery?
David soon learns that several of the guests staying at Killington Towers had motives to kill the victim …
A the motive for muder may have been lost in 'The Silence of the Night'.
'The Silence of the Night' is an expertly-plotted crime thriller from a master of the genre. It is the second book in the David Mallin Detective series.
