The diversity of stakeholders and variety of modeling techniques and perspectives to beintegratedrequiresagilewaysofworkingandtechniquesforefficientlydealingwith unexpectedchanges.Thefieldofenterprisemodelingshouldseektosupportthesechal- lenges by providing methods and tools, as well as investigating and reporting on the currentstateofresearchandstateofpractice. PoEM2022tookplacefromNovember23to25.Theconferencewasorganizedby Middlesex University London and arranged on the Hendon campus by the Faculty of ScienceandTechnology. Following tradition, PoEM 2022 was open for submissions in three categories: 1) research papers describing original research contributions in enterprise modeling; 2) practitioner/experiencepaperspresentingproblems,challenges,orexperiencerelatedto anyaspectofenterprisemodelingencounteredinpractice;and3)shortpaperspresenting workinprogressandemergingenterprisemodelingchallenges. Thisyear,themainconferencetrackattracted45submissionswithauthorsfrom19 countries.Eachsubmissionwassingle-blindreviewedbyatleastfourmembersofthe ProgramCommittee.Asaresult,15high-qualitypaperswereselectedforpublication in this volume (i.e., a 33% acceptance rate) and for presentation at the conference. They cover different aspects of the conference’s main subjects and were grouped by thefollowingtopics:ModelsinInformationSystemDevelopment,ModelingEnterprise Architectures,ModelingCapabilitiesandEcosystems,DSMLandMeta-Modeling,and ParticipatoryModeling. Theconferenceprogramalsoincludedthreekeynoteswithamixofbothacademic and practitioner viewpoints. Alan W. Brown, Professor of Digital Economy at Exeter University,UK,addressedlessonsfrommodelsandmodelingthatcanbeappliedinthis eraofrapiddigitaltransformation.RichardVeryard, writerandexperiencedpractitioner, provided a historical and reflective perspective on enterprise modeling. Mick Dudley, ChiefTechnologyOfficerataleadingUKfoodservicesbusiness, discussedhowtobuild, nurture, andgrowbothenterprisemodelsandteamsthroughacultureofinnovation. In addition to the main conference, PoEM 2022 featured two workshops: the 3rd WorkshoponBlockchainandEnterpriseSystems(BES2022),organizedbyPetraMaria Asprion,AlessandroMarcelletti,AndreaMorichetta,andBettinaSchneider,andthe1st InternationalWorkshoponDigitalTwinEngineering, organizedbySouvikBarat,Ruth vi Preface Breu,VinayKulkarni, andPhilippZech. Also, thePoEMForumwasorganizedbyTony ClarkandSteffenZschalerandtwotutorialswereoffered:“Hands-onArtefact-Centric BusinessProcessModellingwithMERODE”byMoniqueSnoeckand“Enterprisemod- elingofdigitalbusinessecosystems-businesscases,solutionsandmethodologygaps” byJanisGrabis,JanisStirna, andJelenaZdravkovic.
