Description:This is an outstanding personal finance and investing primer for both teens and college students. Even though I'm just outside of the intended age bracket for this book (an expensive fact for which I am now painfully aware), any young person can gain tremendous insight from this well written and accessible guide to finances. It starts from the very beginning (opening a checking account) and moves right along into savings, money market accounts, CD's, IRA's, 401K's, mutual funds, etc... Without boring us to death, the authors break every step of investing down into must-know facts and advice. It also gives readers a eye for financial forecasting by focusing heavily on compound interest and what it *really* means for investors in the long run. Finally, it addresses debt (especially with regard to credit cards) and preaches financial solvency. I highly, highly recommend this one. It was outstanding and highly informational. I can't wait to read other Motley Fool investing guides!
