The report provides an overview and details of state financial transactions as recorded in the Statewide Budgeting and Accounting System (SBAS) from fiscal years 1979 through 1991. Included in the report are data on total revenues/expenditures, general fund revenues/expenditures, public schools and higher education funding, classified state employee salaries, trust balances, and general obligation debt. The Executive Summary provides a broad overview of revenues, expenditures, and other financial information throughout the period. Each section of the report begins with a summary containing graphs and short narratives, followed by detailed tables showing financial activity during each year of the period. We hope this report will serve as a useful reference document for legislators, the public, and state agencies. We plan to update this report periodically, so that it will continue to serve as a comprehensive record of state government finances. Sincerely, Teresa Olcott Cohea Legislative Fiscal Analyst TOC3H:lt:leg6-9.1tr Enclosure ^ 3 1^ g.
