Preview The Miriam Project

Description:

In 2007, The Peoples Republic of China launched an anti-satellite missile, vaporizing one of its orbiting weather satellites.
In 2009, China was found to be secretly mapping America’s electrical grid.
In 2013, China’s National Congress elected hard-line communists to the Central Committee.
In 2015, China launched a nuclear attack on the United States—and became its occupier.

Two Years Later: President Katherine Carlton, a prisoner in the White House forced to propagandize on behalf of the Peoples Republic, has secretly given orders to activate the Miriam Project—clandestine, untested, idle in Texas for over twenty years. If effective it might well end the occupation, but if a single element of the operation goes awry it could mean extinction of what remains of the American population.

A team of three former U.S. Navy SEALs led by Lieutenant Devereau Jarrett has been ordered to deliver Miriam’s eighty-year old visionary across a country governed by The Peoples Liberation Army, bound by curfews, travel restrictions, and radiated hot zones. Difficult at best, made worse by demands of a time-critical, four day passage. And then there is the unanticipated and unwelcome—at least by the SEALs—inclusion of the professor's protégé and protective grandchild, Samantha, a spirited beauty who is to have a significant and unexpected impact on the mission.

On the eve of deployment an informer seeks out General Li Quan in Washington, D.C., compromising the operation. The travelers decide there is too much at stake to withdraw and begin a gripping journey through all manner of obstacles and encounters on the way to an uncertain, but gripping end.

Amazon.com Review

Wow! That was good! An excellent introduction of characters and plot. The plot seems to be an on-going interesting story. The characters are some what "wooden", but good editing will loosen them up.

Amazon.com Review

This story had an excellent plotline. This is coupled with a great setup. With the action moving at a sizzling pace, the reader is drawn into the story. This story really has the "what comes next--lets get to the next page" syndrome. I was left hanging at the end of the excerpt, definitely wanting more.
