1 ll ] J f From the Headmaster... It is customary for my opening remarks in the yearbook lo be enthusiastically general and liulc more than an imitation to look back and enjoythe memory ofa busy year well spent as evidenced in the many pictures and articles contained in the book. Contrary to tradition. I would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the fact that the quality ofthe life ofour school is attributable to the dedication and service ofthe many staffmembers who give oftheir time and enthusiasm quite selflessly. I would ask that you reflect upon the senice of hree members ofthe staffin particular. The year recorded in this copy of The Martlet is the last yeai^ of Mrs. Kay Latter's sen'ice with Sa4tus. Kay left us after twenty-seven years ofteaching in ourJunior School. The year also marked the twenty-fifth year ofservice for Mr. Jon Beard md Mr. Malcolm Durrant. I would like to thank each ofthem for their many years ofpersonal and professional dedication to Saltus. Ve shall miss Kay's work in the classroom, behind the scenes in each ofthe many productions staged in the Junior department and, n particular, her ferocious dedication to Learning through Landscapes and all matters ofenvironmental awareness. We wish her every good ortune and trust that she will maintain her links with and her interest in Saltus in her retirement. "o have seen the school changejind grow through the yeais affords one the opportunity to appreciate how far we ha\e come and-what ignificant progress we have made. The life and enthusiasm recorded in the pictures and articles in this copy of The Martleth characteristic , fthe very best ofour school. appreciate the many hours ofdedication and hard work that have gone towards the compilation ofthis book and I would like to thank Irs.Mathias, Mrs. Morrison-Murdoch, Mrs. Kawaley and Mr. LePage for their work in this.
