I found Nightmare (by Cornell Woolrich) quite creepy and an unusual story. Imagine waking up after a dream to find evidence that it might have been real!
I thought the best story was Don't Look Now by Daphne Du Maurier which is a tale of psychic events in Venice. I could not put the book down until I had finished this one. It really does get you thinking for a while.
