This study iv a utilizes innovative methodological approaches regarding the analysis and r e interpretation of the subject in Matthew’s Gospel, fi nding similarities with s the language and (im)polite engagements of other fi rst-century Greco- Roman characters and the Matthean Jesus in similar contexts. His area of interest is the New Testament, in particular the Gospel of Matthew, herme- neutics, and the Book of Revelation. His publications include several jour- nal articles, both in Spanish and English, as well as a contribution to Elaine Mary Wainwright’s The Gospel According to Matthew: The Basileia of the Heavens Is Near at Hand (2014). Currently, Dr. Olivares is New Testament Lecturer at the Universidad Adventista de Bolivia (Bolivia). He is also a visiting lecturer at Universidad Peruana Unión (Perú) and Universidad Adventista del Plata (Argentina), where he teaches at the postgraduate level.
